VGCC Boots Out Troublesome Members

golf-hazardMy initial reaction to this brouhaha is that of shock. Golf being my hobby, never had it occurred to me that golfers could get mauled to death by fellow humans over a scheduling argument. A bear perhaps, in my case as I make a habit of playing in golf courses situated in the woodlands a few hours away from the city 🙂 Why kill or get killed for mere 10 minutes of inconvenience? Senseless ! In such as sport that breathes and lives on stringent and exacting rules that often befuddle logic, what the heck was that infraction that couldn’t be covered by golf’s almost encyclopedic rule book on rules, etiquette and conduct of play ? How could the course marshal muff it? What was he doing?

In a busy fairway, with players of different skills and age groups, regulating the flow of the players is essential. For instance, faster players in carts are asked to get their flight in front of slower players who are walking. Sure enough – in this world you can always refuse if the matter is within your discretion, but hello, remember golf is a gentleman’s sport and there are always compelling reasons when people make such requests! There is also such thing as compliance to the marshal’s instructions, when golfers arrive late for their booked tee time and they require to join their flight mates who might already be playing ahead of you. Such was the case of the rest of Pangandaman players who arrived late, trying to catch up with their flight ahead of de la Paz.

From the public’s perception, largely fed by the personal blog of de la Paz daughter Bambee who was with the group, people concluded the Pangandamans to be the party guilty of flat out bullying. But that wasn’t to be the case, at least in the way the golf club exacted its discipline on the erring members. If the weight of the suspension reflects on the degree of responsibility for the brouhaha, de la Paz got an equally stiff penalty as the Pangandamans. De la Paz was handed an expulsion from the club , the young Pangadamans banned for life and the DAR secretary suspended for 2 years. I know, I know, don’t get in to that conspiracy theory yet, this was the result of the investigation of the clubhouse incident as witnessed by the marshal, caddies and golf club staff. Of course, the club’s decision can be appealed within a year 😉 Moreover, a criminal case is still pending and methinks the Pangandamans might be on the hot seat on the mauling charge, on the grounds of excessive use of force.

On this issue, here’s an excerpt of my post from another blog :

Barbaric actions are never justified in any manner whatsoever and this is what makes it shameful.

The Pangandamans have to suffer the consequences of their barbaric actions. If the court says they each deserve a belly putter plunged into their butts from tip to toe, so be it. But that doesn’t mean that de la Paz can trot around with his tongue out celebrating victory. The courts must likewise smash his balls with a wedge ( a driver will be a bit too much methinks ) for acting like a prick and for stupidly causing misery to himself and to his poor son.

In truth, this case isn’t about injustice or oppression, of David vs Goliath or the facist against the proletarian. This was just a case of an arrogant dude who didn’t think twice before picking a fight and an equally arrogant politician who thought maybe it was the right time for his bodyguards to brush up on their boxing skills. I can’t friggin’ believe some people actually blamed GMA for this stupid brouhaha. Man, that’s freakin’ creative. Totally 😆

Have you ever swore at yourself for screwing up something so straighforwardly simple, so routine ? Yay, this world has some sinister , hidden power it seems for the things you do quite ably and regularly ocassionally misfires because darn, you just didn’t think twice and checked everything ! And we know when we bungle it, it’s downright depressing, if not embarrasing 😦 If the VGCC brouhaha ever had a moral, it would be this methinks 😉

It is known fact that each of us have our unique fears, some real and some unfounded hence the term phobia. If I want to kill my wife a rubber replica of a rat, with feathers, color and all snugged beneath the blanket would probably do the trick 😆 Common now , we’re so embarrassed about our phobias and don’t want to even talk about it but what if the darn thing shows up totally unexpected at a moment when we are at our best, like in front of millions on TV, what would you do? 😆

  1. Bruised egos on both sides, that’s how I looked at it.
Condescending businessman pitted with another condescending politicians. From what I’ve heard, VGCC is owned by a relative of Mike Arroyo. Pangandamans will sneak in and play when this comedy ends.

First video actually happened to someone my wife knew. This girl blew a solid gas heard by a boy next to her. She ended up marrying the boy! True story, hehe!

Second video – the reaction of the “bading” was expected, what else can he (she) do – it wasn’t a phobia to me, hehe…..

    • TrueBlue – right on. In another blog a poster commented that club members tend to look down on other golfers as if to say – “member ka ba ?” Typical Pinoy kahambugan.

LOL on the boy who got to know and married a girl who farted hehe 🙂 The bading obviously couldn’t control his phobia haha 🙂

  2. Good analysis bro. It’s a case of rich, well connected, metropolitan businessman meets warlord politician from the south. That’s the result if egos as huge as that converge.

  3. that was a stupid act indeed. when are these people going to plant their feet on the ground? hayyy, Filipino politicians. 😦

    • Ipanema – totally childish. that’s what happens people bring their status into the golf course more than the fun of the game duh 😦

  4. “In truth, this case isn’t about injustice or oppression, of David vs Goliath or the facist against the proletarian. This was just a case of an arrogant dude who didn’t think twice before picking a fight and an equally arrogant politician who thought maybe it was the right time for his bodyguards to brush up on their boxing skills.” >>>> i agree. now we’ve seen things from different perspective.

    • Dong – I came into this debate rather late myself and didn’t hazard a guess until we hear from the other side or at least what the golf club had to say about the incident. It is not over yet but we must let this case follow its course and get on with our own lives 😉 As one news item aptly said, this brouhaha is a lesson on GMRC ( Good Manners and Righ Conduct) hehe 🙂

  5. This brouhaha really sucks. I read the link and this guy’s attitude has affected his two teenage kids who are golf talents. For me thats the bad part. We need to be role models to young people 😦

LOL on both videos. They’re hilarious 🙂

    • Natez1 – you said it pal. This was ugly for his talented kids who was with him on the golf course. He picked the wrong fight for sure and that even makes it uglier ugh 😦

I’m glad you liked the videos. On the first one, would you be turned off if you smelled something funny when ou got into the car? hehe 🙂

  6. sick, sick people. the incident is avoidable and yet, foolish pride sets in. for me, it’s more shameful for the politician. he had just proven what many Filipinos think about them. about the pangandamans, i pity the boy.

    • Bingskee – it is shameful for both parties as they acted like uncivilized people. Sure, people can be mad as hell but you should stop when you think – WTF am I really fighting for here ? In this case there wasn’t nothing to fight for but kahambugan took over 😦

  7. Funny when you said people blamed the president for the golf fight 🙂

OMG, that’s so embarrasing for the woman ! The announcer is so hilarious . Too much fear for a cockroach hahaha 🙂

    • Irrealis – in Pinas, the president is responsible for everything it seems 🙂

Phobias are indeed silly. Imagine fearing something that’s just a couple of inches long 😆

  8. i did not know golf was a contact sport already LOL

  9. Thanks for visiting. I just saw the news last night, the lawyer of Pangadamans said they want a public apology. That’s really insane.

    • Witsandnuts – thanks for reciprocating 🙂 If this happened in Canada, both sides will also sue the golf club big time, as being responsible for what happened, duh. That’s even more insane methinks 😦

  10. no comment about the golf incident as I just woke up and don’t wanna ruin the rest of my day, hmpft!

1st video, man that was loud! must’ve created a hole on her undies *lol*

2nd, that was a reaction to a cockroach? childish! (told u I just woke up he he)

bro, Belated Happy New Year! so sorry for the late’s been crazy around here.

    • Thesserie – I hope your day went a little better with the funny videos 🙂 My reaction to the cockroach would be rather simple – thump the darn critter- with my feet. Problem terminated 😆

Hey, belated Bonne Anne to you too. Take it easy !

  11. No matter how arrogant de la paz was, (well that was according to the politician anyway) the mauling was uncalled for, especially coming from a public servant.. As part of the president’s cabinet, he represents the the president herself, and when he allows his sons and bodyguards to beat the crap out of a 56 year old man and his teenage son because of a petty argument — which by the way should have been settled mano a mano — that reflects badly on his boss.

LMAO on the tv weatherman. Lumabas ang totoong kulay dahil sa ipis , EEEEEK! bwahahaha. 😀

    • Sngl – bro, not to be cynical here coz I’ve seen weird incidents happen in the golf course all the day being a weekend player, I am aghast at people who behave arrogantly, who think that they own the golf course. I say if you think you aren’t fit enough to fight, then hold your horses – don’t look for a friggin’ fight !

As for the cockroach queen, I was LMFAO too 😆 The queen could suffer a heart atatck if someone sneaked in a cockroach in “her” blanket hahaha 🙂

  12. i’m just going to react on the last video..

coz i’m sure if that happens to me, i’ll have the same reaction. promise! proven na 🙂

  13. FArt jokes are always hilarious. hehe.

And the weatherman? The video speaks for itself. hehe

    • Wil – you wont believe the fart jokes on YouTube man. They even have audio clips of TV anchors who forget the turn off their microphones while visiting the toilet hehe – crazy 🙂

  14. […] remember the much publicized case of the Valley Golf Club mauling where Sec. Pangandaman publicly apologized for the incident, where two of his sons got involved. […]
